Limb Length For Correction For Minor Discrepancy
This patient has a 2.1 cm discrepancy, projected to be 3.5 cm
at maturity. Note the short right lower extremity. Percutaneous
epiphysiodesis as performed on an outpatient basis, no cast, or
crutches are necessary after surgery. Children can return to activities
within days after surgery and participate fully in sports within
six to eight weeks after surgery.

Full flexibility of the knee is achieved
within weeks after surgery with minimal
scarring.

The photograph and x-ray at maturity shows
equal leg lengths with normal function.
