Tibial Shaft Fracture

Geoff was referred for treatment of multiple injures incurred while sledding down a steep hillside. His femur fracture was treated with an intramedullary rod by the referring orthopedic surgeon but the compound tibia fracture was not suitable for a rod or plate.

We set and secured the fracture as illustrated above, with the fractures all healing without the need for secondary surgery.

His torn anterior cruciate ligament was repaired 8 months after the accident.

He returned to athletics one year after the injury.
