A snowmobile accident resulted in the severe fractures of the
tibial plateau, patella, and femoral condyle.

The drawing illustrates the technique of supporting the fracture
fragments with small bone screws and the Ilizarov fixator.

X-rays show the treatment, spanning the knee joint for six weeks,
and removing the fixator in twelve.
|
X-rays show healing. The patient was able to achieve ¾
of normal knee motion.
